THEY ARE JUST THINGS - BUT THEY ARE MY THINGS

Here are just a few of the "things" that I like. My tastes change and I may not like them next year but right now I do. And......does anyone have an answer to this question? Why do I like the "things" from the fifties, sixties, and some of the seventies?

Tupperware - does anyone NOT like Tupperware?

Mama's pretty little redbird lamp. Excuse the wilting philodendron.
Philodendron are so forgiving.

My collection of "aqua". I use these "things"

Grandma's Christmas Elves that stay out yearlong.

Metal toothpick grabber my son bought me because
it reminded me of one Grandma had.

My drainboard kitchen sink. I know....who cares about a sink?

Sweet potatoes in my Harvest Wheat pattern
dish sitting on my fifties dinette.

More baked sweet potatoes.

  1. I am partial to that drainboard sink! I also love anything with a redbird involved.

  2. I loved all the same things you do! For me, I think these items remind me of days spent in the kitchen with mama. Your sink is like my grandma's. I can remember laying down on the drainboard for her to shampoo my hair!!! That would kill me now!!!!

  6. Love the aqua and that kitchen drainboard. One summer I lived in a cottage that had a drainboard like that all one piece sink..no hot water but we managed. If you like your things..why not..I like most old things..most of which I call early junk:):)

  7. Oh, I adore fifties things too! Love all of these wonderful treasures you have. My Mom used to have the wheat pattern dishes! And I love the toothpick picker and the bird planter/lamp! My daughter is also into vintage! I will have to post some of mine! And, thanks for your comment on my blogpost!
